Hello, my server has been a target for ddos attacks and i am wondering if there is anyway to protect my server from those attacks?

The host you use can try and filter the attacks, but most likely, you will just have to wait it out (anywhere from a few hours to a day, depends).

If it keeps happening on your host, I suggest leasing a DDoS protected VPS/Dedicated server. They are expensive though and it's not a 100% guarantee that it will protect you from the attacks.

Well, if it's not a big server I suggest you to just ignore them and stop wasting your time on stuff like that.
Keep the players busy in other ways..

As he said, It would be very expensive to buy a DDoS Dedicated Server so.. waiting it out is totally worth it.

Though he can try and ignore it, he can't keep the players busy in other ways as the server is not functional (except for putting up a home hosted server instead and have some fun there :P)

Do you guys Know what DDOS is?
It seems not.
DDOS , or DOS means D(Distribuated) Denial of Service
DDOS / DOS simply fills up the SERVER network "port", or make the server cpu freeze up on processing something.
So there isn't a way to protect it 100% from the attacks, but out there are the cisco software, which can filter these attacks on at least 50%(or something like that).

I would recommend if you have any enemys that are constantly doing this to you, I would recommend you get a host like "Regency Host" they provide great great service and great web hosting. I myself used to get DDOSED until i got this host. Now i would aspect this host to be more expensive to what you are paying. But this will stop your problem plus you have a great variety of what you want your server hosted on and what CP you want. So you you are willing to do this, I would recommend Regency Host.
