Interesting question/riddle/whatever you wanna call it

Got asked this question: """3 guys buy candy worth 30dollars and contribute 10 each for it. Later, the owner feels wrong about overpricing the candy and gives his boy 5 one dollar bills to return to them. The boy gives them 1 dollar back each, meaning they paid 9 dollars for the candy each, and keeps the 2 dollars for himself. So their 27 dollars and boy's 2 dollars = 29 dollars. Where did the extra one dollar go?"""" I found no SATISFYING solution for this! Felt like sharing.

Actually, there's no lost dollar: it's the thing that is thought the wrong way just to confuse people. The 3 boys DO NOT have paid $27 in the end! The seller got $25 in the end, the boys $3 and the boy $2. It's like they paid $30, but got back $5, and gave again $2 to the boy, so it's like they gave $28 overall.
