Yola Website Domain
#1

Well I will be releasing my new server next year and well I've set up a forum. Now I currently have a website but its kind of boring an sucks. Well I thought of creating a new one. I tried Yola and seem to like the service. I just hate the you have to pay monthly to remove ads and all. But all websites have that. I dont mind the ads. See now at other sites, if you have your own domain which you have already bought you can set the domain to that website. See now in Yola, you have to be Preminium to set your own domain to the site. Now, If you have already bought a domain, you have the domain CP right? At the domain CP, you set DSL settings and manage the domain. Can you even set the domain, that when someone types in your domain it heads to etc.My Yola site which I can't set in the Yola CP because I need to be Preminium?

Buy a $10 domain, get some free hosting and you have a decent site with no adverts for the next year or so.

They can block access through unauthorized domains i guess. So unless you pay them, you cant forward any domain name to that site.

Seriously homie buy the worlds cheapest web-hosting package and don't buy into some bullshit service that you have to PAY for so that it will lead people to your HOME COMPUTER (which is what I assume its doing, since you mentioned DSL)

If you have already bought a domain somewhere else, you can use it to publish your Yola site (only available to Yola Bronze, Yola Silver and Yola Gold account holders or certain partner programs).

If you decide to upgrade to Bronze, Silver or Gold then this might be useful:

Otherwise listen to the above comments.

Why don't you just buy your own cheap hosting? It's not very pricey at all.

Buy a web host package, preferably from ipage.com, which has a free domain registration, unlimited mails, unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth for only 1.99$ for 3 months, a awesome offer.

Or go to free hosting websites like 000webhost.com

I advise you dont go with yola , they honestly suck , you rather buy a cheap domain with web hosting that Provides "Softaculous" Software installation it provides many apps in there you just have to click install and you could have a SMF or anything in there running in seconds

If your wanting more freedom and control and cheaper prices, i do recommend a different host then Yola.
