My own .exe for the server
#1

Hello, I am currently developing my own program to my server.
I would like to know what you think about the design.
The program contains updates to the graphics (option) for the players, when you install it.
Even moded cars e.tc.

It is barely half finished, but would be fun to see what you think about the concept.

UPDATE:

I've fixed a new design to it, and some extra functions that might help you in your game experience.
The option for Fraps in the client. And an option for new graphics after you installed the client, aswell for new cars.
(So you dont need to add it during the installation.)

Even if you dont, you could select that option after you installed the client.

I'm thinking of releasing this to all server owners, "even the source code" so they can change it to there own server.

E.tc.
§ If i release a new gfx, the will be able to add it into GTA San Andreas. (Will pop-up, "New graphics added, do you want to install it now or later?")
§. Do i add a new load img they will be able to add it "if they want".
Basic..., anything i add or do, they could add or stick to the usual GTA.

But the main part is, that the could connect without connecting via samp.
(Just click and play)
And still get new things to SA. (Click on the program, connect, and it starts) even gives you an notice if i've added somethin new.

SA-MP will allways be the base, cuz' people use it. Thats why i added "Add to fav...".
But my client has benefits, like graphics, cars, textures and alot more.

Add to fav...
Is the part you could just add it to samp insted.

And this is only version 0.1

P.s. I'm gonna update this topic tomorrow with the new prints. Alot has changed.
(Thats when its installed, i'll upload the option during the installation.)

Well it does look nice anyway, but don't quite understand what it does exactly. I'm guessing something that'll just connect players to your server with a new interface instead of using the normal SA-MP Client? But then I see the (Add to fav...) which really just confuses me...

Anyway, I don't think players would download this extra just for a fancy way of connecting to your server.
(Veterans maybe, but that would be about it)

Still, nice work

Seems useless, what do you think the weburl variable in your server config is for?

Interesting idea but I'm not quite sure it's necessary.

interesting concept, but i doubt anyone would actually use it for many reasons. media player is definitely not needed.

Good luck with your application!

It isn't, but for a server to have his "own executable"(ofc we need to have sa-mp, bla bla bla) is nice.
If the server have custom .img files, this simple executable can download them, and install them.
It's better for the people who don't know how to install mods. hehe

Exactly, that was the whole point, but i even got other updates aswell.
The idea came from MTA, where you connect to a server and it download the new things.
But becuse i love samp, i have that as a ground and allows players to choose if they want to download the new things.
Some players dont have enough ram, or a good computer, or a bad gfx card.
So they might want it to stick to the normal.
But still get things as programs, information about updates direct in the client.

About SAMP and http in the server.cfg
Sure, SAMP is great. But you can not customize it.
It's only an http address that shows you to an website.
This will enable you to add new futures and it will pop-up "Do you want to add *****?"
If not, it will still be able to be downloaded after.
