People that want money just to script..?
#1

Look, I've gone around the forums and found heaps of people that are trying to get money if they script
For someone. There's no real point in it when you can just go to samP wiki and learn how to script
So you can save your money and not have to pay people. Scripting isn't really that hard once you get the hang of it and 9 times out of 10 the people that want money If you script for them will just rip you off. Just be more careful if you pay people to script for you.

For what I'm about to say I do not mean any harm or mean racist comments to anyone:
You guys that are getting people to pay for you are just lazy fucks, get off that chair of yours and go and get a job and see the real world. I'm not trying to be mean but it's true.

Thanks for reading this and I hope you guys get what I mean.

Saying programming is easy is ignorant. Just because you can make adjustments to a gamemode or even write small commands does not make you a programmer, it goes far deeper than that and to extends you probably can't even imagine.

Applying your logic to everyday life you are basically saying that programmers should not be paid because it's easy to do?

It can be easy but most people these days just edit a script and claim it as theirs. Plus I'd rather save money to host a server then pay someone to script. I didn't mean any hurt

Scripting is hard for some people, especially for a type of person that has problems reading. It is hard at the beginning, I have a friend that tried to make a "/Setskin" command. He said he tried it for five times and keep on failing by getting error. He even said he's not meant to be a scripter. I then replied saying everyone experienced that in the beginning, even I gave up when I started to script last year.

I did tried asking for help, asking for someone to help me. But they said they will help if they get paid. I only ask if they could share their knowledge in pawno, not even asking them to make a script for me, just LEARNING and get KNOWLEDGE.

PAWN is an unbeliveably easy language compared to.. well anything.

Ok, let's apply that technique to all aspects of life then.

Why do you go to the supermarket and buy food when it's really simple just to grow it yourself? Anyone could learn that reading a wiki!

Well, you forgot that it's actually work.

Plus, like previously stated, programming is so much more than reading a wiki haha, I cannot even believe you compare these two things. That's almost like saying when growing food all you need to know is to plant the seeds! Well too bad for you if they don't grow like you want them to because you totally forgot the environment, the minerals in the ground, the water supplies and supplying your field with constant new fertilizer.

You can compare that a lot to programming, 20 percent of the time a programmer is planting seeds, the other 80 percent he takes care of the environment the seeds live in =).

EDIT:

Forgot to add the conclusion!

The above reasons show you why some people don't wanna learn everything in their life but simply pay someone to use his/her expertise to do what he/she wishes. Not everyone wants to study everything into much detail. That's why you don't build the house you live in anymore, it's shitty work and you don't like the stinging feeling in your back afterwards.

Regards.

Yes, because PAWN scripting and growing food are so similiar and easily affiliated from every point of view (...not). You have a very poor example there.

If something goes wrong in your code, you see the mistake instantly and you're able to fix it right away, which makes the learning process a lot faster than in growing food where seeing the final product of your work might take months and fixing the mistake would take another few months.

The topic starter has a point, but I agree with Extremo that the ones paying for scripting just don't have the time for scripting and would rather pay some cheap idiot for scripting and spending hours of his free time for a few pennies. Paid scripters are comparable to whores, the paying side gets the good stuff and the other side gets a small amount of money and hurting butt.

Well, I guess you look at it too closely. Much like computer graphics consist of primitives, however looking closer, a triangle really doesn't compare to a quad.

Time is relative. It's an aspect we like to consider a measurement for arguements but it's pointless. Some things go fast, some slow, that doesn't change the arguement. If I drive a mile an hour to somewhere, or twenty miles an hour, I still reach my destination and at my destination I see something I can work with.

Quite funny to read so harshly about paid scripters, while not far off their work is much like many professionals who work with tools they've been offered. Their toolrange may be wider in range but the point being is they still work with tools, much like farmers are cheap idiots who work their anus off to deliver their product to the overfed customer in the supermarket.

So you see, not all angles match, but if you look at it from a distant perspectives, the example matches well unless one is driven to examine everything closely. Since jobs such as programmers you really can't compare to any other job in full detail, which assumingly makes sense. It's almost like trying to find something to compare to a hammer and then wondering why it isn't a hammer.

EDIT:

Additionally one may argue if programming is considered common sense. It is still one of the many jobs known as witchcraft to the many and describing something as primitive but fatal for human survival as growing food, one may relate better to how to grow food than how to handle memory management. So one may ponder if examples that are abstract but easy to follow may not brighten the answer a little.
