metal!=metal
In my early days 15 years ago I listened to "heavy metal" like metallica indeed, but my metal preferences were and are changing a lot. Went from heavy over death metal, to progressive, black and avantgarde metal.

Some bands i still like to listen to are e.g. Suidakra, Opeth or Solstafir. But all in all im not listening to metal as much as I did 1 or 2 years ago.

I'm surprised that Dimmu Borgir hasn't been mentioned yet.

Children of Bodom is good too.

Well, I'll mention Dimmu Borgir now then :P. The song "Burn in hell" (covered from Twisted Sister)
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kv3eg_ZROeQ[/ame]

Off course, the original version is much better (but I must admit, I like the new version better then the old version. From the albums "Stay hungry" and "Still hungry", I like all the songs from the "Still hungry" better then the "Stay hungry" except for the song "The price")

Dimmu Borgir is pretty badass. I love "Progenies of the great apocalypse" and "Mourning Palace".

I just love almost all their songs. Right now I'm listening "Gateways". By the way, I like the song "Dimmu borgir" also quite alot.
However, what about the band "Avantasia" (even though it's not really metal, more power metal). The only song I really really love of them is the song... well, "Avantasia" ("Avantasia - Avantasia").
And what about the band "ARCH ENEMY"? Love it too. I first never knew the vocals were from a woman. The very first time I saw a live version, I was like: "Lol, I did not expect that it was a woman" (No just kidding, I was more like "Lolwut WTF")

Or what about "Vengeance" (eg. "Vengeance - Rock N' Roll Shower" - FUCKING NICE SONG. Real rock party music).

I prever metal over rock, the more agressive the better, I've always like'd that.

I fuckin' grew up with Rammstein. When I was at the age 2, for example, I was sitting there on the ground in front of the radio, with a too big headphone and I was 'headbanging' xD. Or when I was in the car, I was trying to sing along with "Du hast" xD. I listened Rammstein almost non-stop for 12 years XD. The concert "Live aus berlin" brings back ALOT of memories (watched it alot together with my father :P)
