San Fierro Roleplay?
#1

Hello,

I was wondering if it's a good idea to start a Roleplay server based in San Fierro. I'm aware that the city isn't popular with the Roleplay crowd, but that's why I'd like to take this as a challenge to prove that it could work out.

My opinions about the other two cities:
1) Los Santos - People say it's the best city for Roleplay. That might be true but it's OVERUSED
2) Las Venturas - I'm not even sure if there is any Roleplay server based in Las Venturas. The city overall is plain and empty (in my opinion).

If you do post here please backup your comment with information from the past... As in, was there ever a popular Roleplay server based in San Fierro, or not?

Note: Yes the gamemode I'm planning on using is downloaded. And no, it's not a GF edit. And yes I plan on developing it myself, not just starting a server with a downloaded gamemode and doing jack shit.

Note #2: I myself are a newbie to the world of SAMP Roleplay, so maybe that's why I'm asking these questions. I'm also aiming to learn something about RP from having a server like this.

Peace out.

Well, I already am a part of a community called TeamDRD, which has 2 Cops and Robbers and Trucking server (which I'm the owner of). So the community is already there and a few people would join the roleplay server I would create, but that's not enough.

You may join me on my conquest though

I have been playing on server with well edited godfather gamemode and it was in San Fierro. I must say it went very well. And from then, I prefer San Fierro to any other San Andreas city.
Give it a try.

We've tried two times to run a roleplay server in San Fierro but it was a total fail. Inspite its a nice city, some nice locations and buildings but it failed for some reason, One reason was most of newbies didn't know correct location and was finding themselves hard to fit it and before trying left. Some was bit bored around the locations and major buildings were at bit far distance and stuff. I would suggest to start only if there are over 50-60 roleplayers or more online a day on your server if it exist. Starting a new will fail. Create in LS then move ONLY if you grow.

Most RP communities fail because people can't run a RP community correctly. RP servers don't fail because of community size, when my server goes live I would love to play with the same 5-10 people everyday if that's the only players I got. As long as I had money to keep the server going I would! A server only fails, when people see how bad of a script or community or admin team-- the list goes on--and then they'll leave and never come back.

Point is not that, We've been running the server successfully, I have enough experience and we had 20-30 players daily. It didn't die all together or because of admin thing. Response towards our team was positive, Helped at all case, Provided equal opportunities, Good support and stuff. The reason was people got bored and everyday 2-3 people got less and when server was empty noone logs in thinking its empty. Thats how it slowly got inactive, sometime suddenly hits the peak or sometime just down.
