(1) We don't know the name.
(2) You can't copyright a game...since it's not even owned by you.
(3) People create communities ontop of eachother with the same name, so why would you care? I wouldn't.

Just run whatever your community you have, see what the results are. It's either you get members, or you don't.

There's nothing you really can do about it.

You can't use copyrights or any legal document, as you don't own the game (SA-MP or Rockstars). You would just have to change your name if that's the case...

Everything you create is essentially automatically copyrighted. I am in no way a legal expert, but this should count for the server's name too if it expresses creativity. In the same way, you can't copyright a red square as a logo because it is a generic shape. Logos and names that do no express creativity fall into the public domain.

Copyright doesent cover names... It only covers creative work by you. However if you wanna spend shitload of money you gotta trademark it

Trademark is the solution? How much money it takes?

add this '©' to your community's name.

Will it effect to the name stealers?

From a legal standing, you cannot copyright the name, you'd need to trademark it to prevent it from being taken, but to do that, you would need an international trademark.

Before I go on, if you were to tell us what country you are from, I'd be able to help you better, as prices very from country to country and the way you would have to go about in.

Basicly, I suggest that you dont bother, its a name, for a SA:MP server. Now if its for a "gaming community" thats another story, and it may/may not be in your best interest to cotninue with a trademark.

That will provide no legal protection to the name at all.

You cannot copyright a name. Unless you go and do legal documents but they won't even pass it for a game that is using a modification for it.

Just like Next Generation Gaming, they claimed to have their script and name copyright but its just more blablabla.

I believe this is technically how you would do this. You must use a logo similar to this everywhere, and clearly state the legal implications as I have written them out in the image.

This should circumvent people from copying your name, however please do not consider this as professional advice and confirm this with a legal aid first.

Can I just request Kalcor about it that if someone copy this name or use this script or copy the script then you should take an action on it?

I would assume not, as no were in the ToS/Useage policy, does it state that you may not use someone(s) server(s) name. For a trade mark per example, im from canda, your looking for a good 300/400 dollars, to register.

My advice, just use the name, dont add any extra symbols, (they do nothing) and just run with it, and hope for the best that no one takes the name your using.

Aswell, you'd more or less be able to register the name, long as the words SA:MP,GTA,SA,LS,LV,SF, and other assorted names with rocktstar would not be included in the name; example, GTASA RP- you could not register, but Bobs Fun House Of Fun - You could, as it made no refrence to the game/sa:mp

EDIT: If your going to try to copyright/trademark etc the script, all the best to you, as that would be near impossible to do.

Yes and no, that could circumvent people from using the name yes, but he has no legal standing to take "legal" action upon anyone using his name, as he legally does not own, or have any right(s) in claiming the name.

Your best bet, if your really wanting to keep your name yours, register the trademark for 300/400 +, thats the only way you will be able to legally say " Hey, thats my name, stop using it, or i take legal action".

As for 10domains TLD's and i need cheap, why not just register one, and just use sub domains? its a cheaper option, and the most cost effective.

You cant "own" a set of words. Its like naming it "hello roleplay" and noone is allowed to use the word "hello" ever again.
If theres anything you could do with international trademarks, im sure it is way more expensive than anyone would ever be willed to pay for a samp server script or community name.

Only by trademarking it, which would be economically practically impossible for a regular community.

I dont want to take actions against them, I just want to tell or scare them so they wont use my name, Because you see the roleplay or any other servers having the name like Los Santos Roleplay, and its having PB nearly 50
but due to other Los Santos Roleplay its reputition gets down, people something also thinks its the same i dont want that thing so it reduces the rep of my comunity and servers too.
