New PC? Good for SAMP?
#1

I am considering of buying a new PC, I play multiple games which I am fine with in lower quality but to define "good enough" to me I'd like to be able to:

- Run SAMP/GTA on high graphics with a decent FPS
- Having car/weapon mods installed, posibly ENB on high settings
- Being able to run the above, while using Teamspeak/Ventrilo/Skype and able to fraps.

Currently I can only play on low graphics, with mods (except ENB) but my FPS drops when using vent/ts/skype/fraps

Packard Bell iMedia i5720
Processor: Intel Core i3 - 3.2 Ghz
RAM: 4 GB (upgradeble to 8 GB) DDR3
Graphical card: ATi Radeon HD5450 512 MB
Hard disk: 500 GB
For Ђ479

Would it be good enough?

No, it wont be good enough! You need Nasa's PC to run samp!

Seriously, that's more than enough to play SAMP with, with hellova mods

Nice, I hope World of Tanks will also work on it...

It's the same processor as mine. It's a dual core, but it has some weird shit which makes it into 4 cores. Hyperthreading technology or some shit.

I can run SA:MP @ 1080p / constant 100fps + max settings.

The graphics card should have no problem, I'm not sure if GTA is a CPU or GPU demanding game, but i'm sure it will be fine.

What about GTA IV?

And FPS 100? :O

My limit is 25 - 30 now WITHOUT fraps and everything low.

Fraps makes it drop to 15 - 20.

Ever tried to disable the Frame Limiter on SA and raise the fpslimit on sa-mp?...

Ha, its a 7 year old game, if anyones computer cant run it then they are seriously out of touch with technology!

If you're going to install a lot of texture mods (and play other games as you mentioned), you may want to consider a slightly better graphics card. Besides that, the rest will defiantly run it.

@weedarr: Or people just don't have $600 to throw out the door every other year.

I'm saying to buy an adequate computer that will stay up with the standards, even for that many years ago, it is nearly equal to spending hundreds of dollars a year. I myself only had enough money in the budget to buy a computer that is an Athlon II dual-core with 4 GB of RAM after around 4 years of saving; and there are many people in a MUCH worse financial state than I.
