i am trying to get forum up with he mysql part it is a problem i am trying to use simple machines can someone help please

That is a very unreliable webhost. And, the best place to ask questions, is on the 000webhost forums, or by their support system.

Most free web hosts are unreliable, that's not even a good question to be asking.

xtreemhost is a free webhost that I've used, and I didn't have many problems with it. But seriously, buy webhosting...

To set up SMF in 000webhost:
- Create your account, goto your site's CPanel. (Use this link: http://members.000webhost.com/)
- You'll see many usefull tools, Click on the 'FTP details' Icon.
- Search in ****** then download 'FileZilla' (an FTP client) > Install it to your PC > Enter the details you see and Connect to it.
- Now, goto SMF website and download their 'Full Package' and Extract the compressed file into a new folder in your PC
.
- Using FileZilla, Copy the contents of your new folder to your sites root/public_html path.
- When copying is done, goto http://yourwebsitelink/install.php and do things as you wish.
- While setting up forum, it will ask you for SQL DB and stuff, Select MySQL (not SQLite).
- Then goto CPanel again and Click on the MySQL Icon, and set up your mysql username/pass/dbname etc..
- Enter these details in the SMF installation settings and wala!
(I did this before for practice purpose..
)
