Hey guys.


I am sick and tired of the people who come to this forum and beg for rep. In the end, they get their rep and post their shitty server. I had an idea. The user should have 100 posts before he/she can GET rep. So basically, if the person had under 100 posts, his/her rep will be 0.

You're making it out to seem that the server advertisements is a niche way of advertising a server - it's the most generic way to do so.

Edit the way Ads are dealt with. The reputation isn't something wrong, it shows you if someone is respected or not. Take me for instance, few posts and some reputation. My posts (I'm so vain right now) would be more trustable than one of those with over 1000 posts but without any reputation point. They would be considered spammers.

I suggest the team who manages the forum recruits some people to accept/deny ads. You should fill in a specific form, and if accepted, it gets posted. So Ad section would become a closed section, and there would be a topic with a form and an email address to mail to. If accepted, a mod posts the exact form into the closed board - people will still be able to see it. And ikr beta testers etc don't have time for this. That's why I ask to recruit one or two people who are busy with it.

Still, this won't prevent people spamming advertisements in other sections.

Sorry that is bullshit. Reputation doesnt make your posts more "trustable" nor does it determine a user's server worth! Its absolutely ludicrous to deny someone from posting a server advertisement in the correct section simply because they do not have reputation. A brand new user has JUST as much right to post an advertisement for his server as someone with very high reputation like ****** has! Reputation, post count, and registration dates are completely irrelevant in my eyes. If a new user wants to create a server using the Godfather gamemode with no edits, and wants to advertise it, let them do so! As long as he follows the rules for the section, who honestly cares (if he isnt, he deserves to be punished of course.)? The advertising section has a rating system, so if your unhappy with the advertisement and server, simply vote on the advertisement.

Im honestly not sure what people's issues are with new users posting advertisements. If players are going to be persecuted for using common gamemodes, then there shouldnt even be a section to release gamemodes.

Since you can only give rep since 50 posts, making rep rise ONLY after you have 50 posts too is a good idea

I am not offended, people's opinions can differ. But the main point of your post is more a reaction on the topic than on my post. I did not write you need to meet any requirements. You just send an e-mail to a specific address and then, if it's good, no matter who made it, it does get posted. Doesn't differ much with your opinion, only in my proposal the "bad" topics are deleted BEFORE they get posted. It does take more time though. I don't look at advertisement section anyhow - I don't even play sa:mp anymore.

Anyhow, if a random user with 5 posts tells you in a scripting question to do this, and ****** tell you to do that, what would you do? But I get your point, I was too straight-forward in my post. No, reputation doesn't define anything, but it can give a slightly better appearance than having 0 reputation after 2000ish posts.

Obtw, you'll probably lol, but I don't get the rep system. If you click on give rep, how much do you actually give then? And why specifying a reason? And how can you see who gave you rep? Yea I'm a total newb on this forum.

They are making multiple accounts and abusing by posting crap and adding rep using other account....

Honestly, both of the reputation and post count systems should be removed! All they do is warrant spam from those kiddos and really just create more work for the forum moderators.

The advertisement section is stupid and I have honestly never seen a server succeed that was listed in there- it does nothing. People tend to ignore the advertisements since ~85% of them are RP edits. Only one or two of them are from scratch and they tend to suck anyways. I wasn't around when the "official tab" was here, but that always seemed like the best idea.

What has the hosted tab done? Absolutely nothing, it's now overflown with ~150 servers and it grows constantly. Go load it up, the majority of the servers have less than 10 people on right now, and it's not because of the time (or date).

I agree with this, there are so many damn RP server adds >.> You can hardly spot other servers in the advertisement section. I think they should make a different section for RP just like how Lorenc_ said.
