If I ever create my own public server, should I hire a lawyer?
#1

I have been wanting to host my own server for some time, but I started having this doubt after seeing this post: http://forum.littlewhiteys.co.uk/ind...c,15952.0.html
As you can see, an user is asking for the email address of another user, and then admin Ace replies that giving out email addresses would be illegal. I didn't know that this was illegal, so there might be other things that are illegal too without me even knowing it.
How can admins and server owners tell what's legal and what's not? do all public servers have their own lawyers, or are just common sense and a bit of advice enough to be out of problem? Also, some laws are different from one country to another, so what ones do apply for servers?

I think you know what is legal and what is illegal, sharing of private informations is not legal, because theyre PRIVATE as name says, any way of hacking is also illegal (including cracked, pirated versions of software/games),
And You can really conclude thats not reason because you shouldnt make your community. Thats not reason to make me unhappy (I love all samp servers)...

What? That's ridiculous. E-Mail is arguably not even a piece of private information and it's definitely not illegal to share it (how else would people email each other?).

That's true. I think to open up a server, you should just have some BASIC knowledge of internet laws.
