Server hosting

hello,

I'd like to host a server for me and my classmates, so we can join eachother while having a boring lesson.

with the test ip, (127.0.0.1 or something) it works FOR ME, and also when i use my non-static ip: 192.168.2.3
but i asked a friend of me to join, with both of above ip's. both of them said: 'Retrieving info....'

please help me!!!

P.S. my router: Arcadyan ARV7519 - Firmware Version:01.01.113

you may need to set up port forwarding....

use Simple Port Forwarding, It does everything for you.

But in school, you are on the same LAN I think( If your in the same class yes.)

And 127.0.0.1 is the self loopback Ip adress

try the command "ping [serveradress]" from the clients computer in the cmd window and give me the results

(its in dutch)(i added 2 ip's: the router's, and my pc's(in that order))
