Setting up a SA-MP server on a VPS is easy. https://sampwiki.blast.hk/wiki/Linux_Server

Even better, open a support ticket and ask Volt to install LAMP + SA-MP server for you

So you buy a VPS to then question yourself how to use it? Makes sense.

As linuxthefish said(for some reason I love that name) you have a wiki page, and if I remember right, there was also a perhaps more detailed tutorial somewhere in the tutorial section. Also indeed Volt has excellent support so I don't think they have a problem with installing a few things for you. (you might want to ****** a bit for help with linux terminals, because that'll help you out immensely).

OMG SHUT THE FAK UP about volt! i swear i will open my own company and offer $5 for 200 slot hosting if i keep hearing about it!
but anyways, what o/s did you get, didn't say there?
Also (opinion, not fact) i feel ubuntu (not too sure yet about this) or Debian has a nice feel to it, than centos ( since people are getting that cuz some where in the forums says it) and 64 or 32 bit?

also: https://sampwiki.blast.hk/wiki/Linux_Server does help.
so are u using this just for a server sa-mp? or for web too?
the reason i ask because if its just 100% for server THEN good, that way there is very little u need to install, keeping the server bare as possible, only the essentials to get max performance!
but if u wanna put a web site on it, its ok also, recommended too but what ever floats your boat.

i just recently got my own box, and helped 2 others with VPS's and so far good, sa-mp really does help new people with this, i guess in a way they want to see someone learn? i am not sure, people get off helping other people, its a sickness, others are emo, but yea, follow instructions and only ask when you are unsure (****** helps, BUT BE VERY CAREFUL, ****** is a good search engine, but it fails in intelligence in a human (prospective) level.

Maby they haven't activated it yet? If they don't activate it within 10 days, ask for your money back. If they don't do that, get legal stuff involved.
