Hi. Do you have a huge knowlegde in Ubuntu and it's Wine and Winetricks?

I'm currently trying to run Windows Live Messenger 2009 to run over the Linux Ubuntu.

We've worked on this, but we got stuck.
We followed this guide but the program wont start. http://allforlinux.com/2009/08/msn-in-linux/

Why would you bother? Pidgin and the other Linux alternatives are good.
