Spamming question
#1

I have a small question...

Forum admins do not want to delete the 120 secounds time waiting between posts because that will " increase the spam " but the spam is actually increased by the freak's unexplicable lust for getting as more posts as they can. That is like a life goal for them ... I mean like WTF !? Why don't they delete the POST COUNT and they can delete the waiting time withouth worries too, i mean if there is no post count there is no reason to stop spammers from posting things fastly when there will actually be no spammers ... Agreed ?

The forum team does not care about removing the post count or changing the "post design" in any way:

More than 300 votes, just 15% FOR keeping it as it is, and not a tiny word about it from the team is a sure proof for that.

Well if they remove that they can also remove the waiting time!

I honestly don't agree
Let me explain you why,and i guess this is the reason why SAMP Team does not change it.
Mauzen created a topic where you have to choose between:
  • No, but a rate system in addition would be nice
  • Yes, just remove it
  • No, keep it like it is
  • I dont care / Undecided
There is no favorable option ...Lets take it step by step:

__________________________________________________ _____________

1)A rate system

A rate system means giving the possibility to rate a user to everyone wich is just unfair.
I could always get my 15 friends and start voting 1STAR to "Y-Less" because we do not like his popularity.
NOTE*:I took Y-Less because he really don't deserve to get only 1 Star

2)Just remove it

Removing it,is this a seriously question?I don't think so...
We need to know who to trust and who we cannot trust. For example:
Im a newbie,if i request help for scripting, for example, and another newbie comes there and starts "teaching" me how to destroy my first script,i could not find out because i don't know if he really deserves to give lessons.
Note*:Im not saying that there are not users who have little ranks but they have a BIG knowledge.

3)Keep it like this

Yep,this is a favorable opetion in my opinion because i could always trust a "High Roller" or a "Big Clucker" instead of a "Little Clucker".BUT as i said up there ^^,there are Little Cluckers with huge experience so im not offensing anyone.

I hope this helped you a bit .
So this is why i believe SAMP Team preffers to keep it like this.Because untill they find the best way to rate users, they will have to keep the same Post Count System.

IF you belive a guy ruining your script you are a moron. What you wrote makes no sence. You cannot trust ALMOSt noone withouth knowing him a bit more. Moronish post.

People will spam no matter what. They won't care. The team just need to find out these spammers and temp/perm-ban them.

I could care less, but if I had to pick, I'd have to choose Agree..

Nice to finally see some critics again. But I think I explained quite well, that the post count says almost nothing about the scripting experience. Things that I look at for this are the join date and the name. There are people here with 1000+ posts who have no idea how to script, and as you said, people with 10 posts who are scripting gods (the most really good scripters indeed have less than 100 posts).

The rate abuse is the biggest problem in changing it to a rate system, but it is just the equivalent to the current post spam, so this makes no difference. One rate per day, and only people with at least a +1 rate (starting at 0) are allowed to rate others, and youre fine.

(PS: you left out the fourth option: post count + rate system )

@drift_hunter: Im not sure if this is technically possible with a vBulletin board. Would require a bunch of new mods to put all of them in the group, but this would be THE solution for the waiting time.

And another reason why I prefer IPB over vBulletin. You have the option to give positive and negative reputation to every post (yes, a forum post - not a user). However, the negative votes can be disabled alltogether and the amount of ratings that can be given per day can also be limited. Ofcourse, there will always be morons that abuse the system, but we should really count on the people that don't. Sadly enough, I don't see them switching to IPB anytime soon.
