I need some php help. I want to make a signature generator for my server. Once i see how its done ill know what to do.

How do i make it so it use /images/ginatures/defaultbackground.png as the background, and if the person is at /sigmaker.php?name=Jamsta it displayed the stats for Jamsta from the db? My Name column is name, db name is players. Can you show me how to make it display the name from the mysql in the middle of the image? Once i see that i can do the rest.
