I think its stupid to have adverting on forum, because people post thousands of ads in one month and when they get caught, they just make a new account, so I'm suggesting something like xtremetop100.com, but on samp host. For example: top.sa-mp.com

Top list is good, but I think that list can allow server owners to choose to add their servers into it or not.
Some of the servers are not willing to be global I think because of the language problems.

This is what game-monitor is :
when i said toplist, i meant on a site where people VOTE for their favorite server, and toplist makes a list based on votes.
Votes restart each month, so all servers would have a chance.

the players ALREADY decide which servers rank highest; more players = higher rank...
i think it's fair to say that if lots of people are playing a server, it's got to be fun for them?

These votings are always faked and many servers tell their players to vote, to get more players - may end in vote spamming.

They should do a big poll 1 day on the forum and whichever servers are the best, The SA-MP team should give out recommendations to those high rep. servers

There is no magic and there is no need for all of this.
If your server is good and unique people will stay on it. I had a cod server which had 70+ on everyday

I had hosted list and advertised here like 1 time every 2 months ...
first 2 weeks 15-30 players
in 4 months 50-60
during summemr - 80-100

I think the advertising section is a great way for new servers to get a stable playerbase. It's hard to gain members without advertising the server, especially if you can't afford the hosted tab. We should not restrict the advertising section for only players with a certain post count to post. That's completely stupid. I might not have a high post count but that doesn't make me a retard. If you notice one server is getting adverised several times a week, it's most likely crap and you wouldn't join it.

+If your server will be good enough, players will stay anyway, even if its only on Internet, Im also tired of same RP servers, bunch of kids ( usual 14-16 ), have been played on some RP server, than they decide to make own server, because thats how it MUST be, you MUST have own server, so they take one of the GF edits and think they will get up one more LS-RP, but in short time they realize that they dont know how to script and starts to spam sa-mp.com, thats how it is.
Well, only way how to get many players is to buy Hosted tab each 2nd month and to not use GF edits or any other released script.

best advertisement of all its the mouth to mouth (friend telling another friend), when u start a server u can try to advertise it in any place but if it is not a good gamemode the forget it.
there is too many things that makes influence at the moment you do the opening and the advertisement for your server and there will be always a clone, trust me if there is no other similar script a guy will code a new one with same features or even better to take your people xD
