Chatbox uses lots of FPS
#1

Hi everyone,

I have an ATI Radeon HD 5770 (1GB ~ GDDR5). I'm playing SA:MP generally at 40 FPS (everything maxed out).
I've noticed a while ago that when we press F7 one time (so the border of the chat text dissapears) I get an increase of +- 20 FPS.
Now when I press it again to disable the chatbox I get +-5 extra (so, when the chatbox is disabled I'm able to get almost 30 FPS extra) which means I can play SA:MP at 60+ FPS when border is disabled.

Why does the Chatbox eat so many FPS?

I think it's the chatbox 'effects' that do it, unsure though. I do win FPS too, but about 10 when disabling chatbox.

Wow, I didn't even know about this.

This should be fixed, but thanks for telling about this, this indeed increases FPS.

Seems like everyone experiences this issue, including myself. What I usually do is I press F7 once, so that it removes the black ourtline of the text and sends a couple more frames my way; It's a temporary fix, just don't look up to the sky otherwise you won't be able to read the text heh

Using a Nvidia 9800GT - 512Mb.

Knew this long time ago. Though, it only appears at 7 and Vista. At XP you only get around 5 FPS more.
