I remember old days before the leak scripts starting taking place in SA:MP community. I really miss that old days unfortunately the news is not so good to see a sucessful gaming community such as Next Generation Gaming merging up with other same project (dev) (server).

I believe sometime NGG will come back because this is how servers works nowadays.

As for sa-mp dying or being dead, well it depends to who. sa-mp was most alive for me during the vc-mp days, when there were only a handful of players. That was some genuine fun, believe me.

RP servers either have to rely on a constant influx of new players, or pretty much all the RP modes would have to be redesigned for people who have less time and patience for the game. In RP terms, that means more character progression/single player style play. I don't think the faction model would sustain itself forever.

Is it all worth it for such an old game? Who knows. GTA can still be fun, but as you get older you find yourself being pulled over to more mature games like Elder Scrolls etc.
close samp too pls

I'm rather curious as to what events you're referring to specifically because Devin never sanctioned anything that would put the community into disrepute (which may not be the most evident at times, but I've worked with the guy directly for 8 years). I mean, it is what it is and there's not really much any of us can do about it now. I just like to clear up any misconceptions that tend to pop up.

I don't think he cares either way. He only came back around recently after being gone for a couple of years because we were playing ARK. We still joke about it from time to time.

afaik they got the player database - some of it got merged over, most didn't and some got converted (cash at a 216:1 ratio)

Shows how 'secure' they were with the script, and how it was leaked so many times.

I really shouldn't have to explain this to you, but there have only been two options when it comes to running a development team: we either a) do the SARP approach and restrict the script to one or two people and never hire an outside developer or b) do our due diligence and allow someone to build up a trusting relationship and eventually allow them access to the script. Unfortunately, not everyone is perfect and some people have their own focus and would rather do things for their own personal gain.

I've been around SA-MP since about mid 2013, I believe sometime after the 0.3x release. I found out about the modification originally through a video that showed someone walking around inside a journey using a chat-box to type in "/sit" (or something similiar). I was intrigued and at first I thought this was just a single player modification, I thought being able to use a chat-box to do actions in GTA:SA was the coolest thing ever. I soon after found out it was actually a multi-player modification and started watching SmokezHerbs LS-RP videos. I remember thinking to myself that it was amazing the guy could remember all the different commands there was. I eventually submitted, after multiple attempts, an application to LS:RP. Sadly I soon had an encounter with a trucker (I think) who we for some reason or another got in a dispute against. I had done the application completely on my own but admittedly didn't really understand it, I just strewed a response together enough to get accepted in. I called 911 and told them the guys name and when an admin came, I told them I knew their name because it was, well, above where their head was. I was pretty new to this type of game and I legimiately didn't know any better, I was unfournately banned at this point which I was pretty sad about at first.

Eventually for some reason or another I also found out about NGG. I eagerly rose through to Level 2 and around this time, rimkits and giftboxes were the hype. I found a guy and asked him for $50,000 so I could level up to level 3 and have a chance at the giftbox (which was level restricted). The guy kindly gave me that amount and I went to go use the giftbox, and guess what? I got a rare rimkit, I had people all around me spamming me jealous wanting to buy it. Unfortunately, I felt I had somewhat been in debt to the guy who helped me level up, so I sold him it for $15,000,000, which I soon found out was much less than I could have gotten. I eventually stayed on the server for a while and joined different gangs & later a faction (FDSA).

Anyway, I spent a good amount of time on the server before eventually leaving and moving on to other things. I really want to thank NGG for teaching me so much about SA-MP, many life lessons and how to begin roleplaying. I made a lot of friends there and although I haven't really approved of the direction NGG started taking in late 2014 - 2015, I have to admit that without it, I might have grown out of SA-MP really quickly and I am thankful as I'm still continuing to have fun with the game nearly four years later.

I don't know who leaked it, but even then the team was crap it was just me, Donuts (even tho his code was dreadful) and Zhao pulling the rest of a dead weight team until it all got switched up, no idea what happened after, heard Brian kept things in check for a while.

At least this brings to an end not only the mismanagement, but especially the exploitation of vulnerable teenagers who desired nothing in that community than to have power and contacts. That will end, but I hope the guilt never does.
