I agree on the part on homehost and wireless.

A laptop has not been designed to work and calculate 24/7.
It will produce heat and again, a laptop has not been designed for that.

And Windows XP recommends 512mb RAM, whoever this laptop has 256mb AND he want to host a server, he probably has wireless also, which will result in lag.
