One of the main differences between Linux and Windows is that Linux is cAsE-sEnSiTiVe whereas Windows is not, which means that if you have a file called HELLO.txt and try to open hello.txt it'll only work on Windows. I'd recommend you check your script so that all the cases match and if it still doesn't work on Linux, try getting a minimum slot server on a Windows host to test if it works then upgrading later if it does. KingJ would be a good choice if you do get a Windows server, we've been using him for almost 3 years with very few problems.
