Afaik from all the data i collected once, y_offset=0 is the mid between the front and back wheel for all normal vehicles. So make the y offset around 0.5/-0.5, dont know how big the lights are exactly.
x_offset=0 is the mid of the car of course, so sth between 0.9 and 1.2 (-0.9, -1.2) should be fine for the most cars.
z_offset=0 is hard to define generally. For sport vehicles it should be something slightly under 0.0.
With those values you should have a good base to play around with. Just make a cmd that adds a light, if you can with the x/y/z offset as parameters.
Most sport vehicles have similar dimensions, so there is not much to change if you want to attach lights to different models.
