Loosinmg sound is caused by GTA:San Andreas not being able to fully utilize your soundcard. This causes missing sounds - Disable anything that requires your soundcard (apart from Windows, obviously) and you should be fine. - Or go out and by a USB Plug'n'Play soundcard, they work a treat when it comes to missing sound.
