As Mauzen said, try to start with smaller things first, and trying to understand other scripts (simple ones) before attempting your own. It's best to start modifying existent SMALL scripts (that is, not a godfather gamemode, but a rivershell for example). There are quite a few useful tutorials at the wiki, this one has been around the wiki forever and it's a very nice place to start.
In any case, you will find out that trying to read and understand other scripts, and gradually adding new stuff to single scripts is the best way to learn, until you know enough as to start your own script.
Learning to script is not a 2 days thing, it takes a while, and is a very nice introduction to the world of computer programming if you ever plan to do this proffessionally in your future.
