As others have pointed out, in this case it's most likely that the RCON password was not set.
In general, if your server crashes on startup take a look at server_log.txt. The output of the server is logged into here and the server will normally write a message into the log explaining why it crashed.
Once your server is up and running you will probably need to port forward so that others can access your server.
