In my opinion, ATI own nVidia about quality/price ratio.
I had several nVidia, i had several ATI: i won't buy nVidia products anymore unless they lower their prices. I currently have a HIS HD4870 1Gb and im 95% satisfied, since i never had any problem, even with full overclock. Low noise, good temperature (unlike some nvidia products), and good performances. The 5% remaining are about CCC, which could be a lot better.
Also my laptop have a HD3430 in it, and since i buyed it (1 year), i never had a single problem too.
BUT I remember having problems with GTA:SA and my old pc with a 9600XT in it: blue screens, and etc, and finally it blewed up while playing SA:MP. From what i deducted, it is GTA:SA which damaged my 9600XT, since i never had problems with that gpu in any others games.
