My opinion might not matter much because to this day I haven't really finished building a script and run a server with players, but let me put my two cents here anyway.

After working on a project for the past years, there have been two reasons as to why I didn't adopt 0.3DL into my WIP project immediately after it came out. One being that I suck at modelling so I wouldn't be able to provide fitting models for the project (at least not if I'm the only one working on it). Now, there are a lot of talented people that released really cool things for use, so I'm guessing this wouldn't be a big hurdle for DL adoption today. The other reason being that, because 0.3DL wasn't 'marketed' as main version (like it not being on the downloads page), I thought adopting DL could wait until it was at some point merged in the main release and got more exposure.

The decision to not include the DL feature won't make me quit development, that's for sure, though I think projects (not just mine, but all around this community) could have been even more beautiful with it.
Now that the decision has been made, I just really hope for a positive outcome.
