I have an issue whereby a driver fails to install properly (it does not show on services.msc, apps & features, task manager, etc.). To be specific, it is the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver for my Asus X555LD that I am currently dealing with. I tried to seek some help from ASUS Support Live Chat and according to the customer service agent, it is a compatibility problem because I did a fresh installation of the laptop and therefore lost my OEM/original version of Windows which is specially tweaked for my laptop and they told me I did a big mistake, I should've upgrade/update instead, not through fresh installation. They asked me to send to ASUS store which would cost me for OS re-installation is $60 ($50 for reinstallation and $10 for ground shipping).

Does anyone here owns a laptop and had a fresh installation before? Do you ever encounter any issues?
