Ok so i have been mapping for 4 years now but i had stop and started studying Web Design/Development. Anyways, i came back and started to do paid mappings once again but i have notice that most of my clients now a days are requesting me to create a type of mapping that classified as "Modern Mapping", what i would like to know is whats the difference between "Modern maps" from a regular interior map other from the bright textures (which sometimes look unrealistic)..

Also i would like to know if there is a way to get rid of wall shadows in maps.(I know of no such ways). Also please state which mapping tool/software you guys think is the best in your opinion
