You can try using an ApplyAnimation at a slow speed when the player dies to simulate a sort of 'slow motion', although the only issue is that everything else around the player will be at normal speed, kind of ruining the illusion.
As for the negative/black and white, you can only really use black and white textdraws with an adjusted transparency, but this won't look very promising if you put it into play. There's no real way to alter the colors, only apply layers to it, which is not very easy on the eyes.
