All in all I like your changes since you maintained the feeling of being in a small desert town. There are few exceptions though, I don't understand what the plane wreckage is doing there and the fire station is a bit too large for just a small community.

Personally I'd also delete the remaining blue coloured objects in front of the Fort Carson sign and maybe add some parking lots around the Fort Carson sign? Just a suggestion of course.
