You can't just swap a hard drive into a new PC and expect everything to still work. The new laptop has completely different hardware specifications, and hence also needs completely different drivers. I don't think it's surprising that Windows won't boot.
Also: Win XP.
Buy an external enclosure or a SATA docking station. Shouldn't cost too much. It'll allow you to transfer all your files to the new laptop (with the new hard drive).
