Do SA:MP servers need any sorts of DDoS protection?
#6

We get DDoSed on average every couple days (gbps+), but since it's summer it's every single day, aha. How do we deal with it?
  • We budgeted well and grabbed a server with DDoS filtration and a gigabit connection.
  • Completely ignored attackers. I treat DDoS like rubber bullets, ineffectual to kevlar worn by your server.
  • High-profile attacks, we promptly follow up with our host.
Initially speaking though, we weren't getting attacked frequently because we simply had no enemies and were very little to our competition. But as soon as you progress and begin to perform much better than others; that is when you become a target. Growing servers honestly should not have an issue, but when you have grown - you will experience these type of people.

I really don't see how getting DDoS protection will 'protect' management. 3rd party applications generally expose your personal IP address most of the time...
