Im asking these as im having big problems with my main HDD and i would like to zero fill it. Problem is i cant just download some data wiping software, create bootable flash drive and erase full HDD as i have files on local disc D and i dont have space to backup all of them.
Quick Format is just that, quick. In order to make the formatting process quick, the drive is not checked for bad sectors.

Full Format runs an additional stpe that checks the hard drive for any bad sectors, This is why it takes abnormal time like more than quick format.

In quick format the files do exist, Normally you'd assume that the files are gone but you can get'em back.
