If AdBlock Plus didn't work, then it's most likely that the ads aren't popping out from the browser/website(seeing that AdBlock is a browser extension, which only blocks ads on your browser and not your computer).

If you've the wit go on control panel and uninstall any programs that you don't recognize. If not, use malware bytes.

Also check your browser extensions and uninstall or disable them as much as you can.
