No... Windows 8 doesn't need DirectX 9 to be installed and various others have had success without it.
Windows 7 however does. And how does the usage of his PC relate to the TP? He's got a problem running a game on his PC that he has CHOSEN to install the TP on... It's not a debate on whether he should've or not, so please, if you're not here to actually assist, then refrain from posting useless comments... After all, both your posts, are simply comments, nothing towards helping the OP. He's installed it as a Dual Boot, so chances are he has a clue about what he's doing. Right, so back to this... If the single player game works, then chances are it's an issue with SAMP itself. By rights because he says that gta_sa.set is able to be deleted we could assume that the single player runs, HOWEVER, because he could've upgraded, the gta_sa.set could be from the old installation... So therefore, we need the OP to provide more information, mainly regarding the game running in the first place. Judging that Windows 10, will be based on a lot of Windows 8, there are threads in the forum that could provide assistance. In all of these, DirectX9 isn't installed. If you've got the DVD/CD version, it should try installing DirectX, Same goes for the Steam version. I'd advise against installing DirectX 9 on the TP, as it is more out of date than Windows 7, and not even Windows 8 needed the DirectX9 being installed. My questions are as follows... Does it work, in single player... Is it a Steam Version, or a CD/DVD version... Did you install it, or just copied the files over and ran it, without the install feature... |
1. It does not work in single player.
2. It is DVD version.
3. I have some versions of GTA SA, installed on old Windows 8.1 and installed on second Windows 7 (i think for Windows 10 it looks like copied, when for old Windows 8.1 version looks like installed)
I will try reinstall GTA SA later, maybe it solve problems.
