Making your roleplay server successful and realistic

Introduction
Most roleplay servers are missing the vital notes which make sure that your server is successful, and players get a good experience. This tutorial will tell you the things that you need to know when you are making/developing your roleplay server.

Economy
The economy is one of the main points of a server. I've seen highly unrealistic economies on a lot of servers that I used to play on. A few examples are:
  • Phonebook- $500
  • 6-pack of beer- $100
  • Newspaper- $50
  • Mask- $500
In my opinion, the prices are highly unrealistic here. I would never pay $500 for a phonebook in-real-life, and wouldn't pay $100 for a 6-pack of beer. Your prices of regular items matter, since it adds to the realism of your server, and it may impress a few players, which could help your server to get more reputation, and to get more players, the serious roleplayers.
Now, lets look at things such as vehicles. I've seen a range of different prices on vehicles, some of them are too high, some are too low. Lets show you some examples of prices which would be a lot:
  • Infernus (sports car)- $50000
  • Blista-compact (regular vehicle)- $65000
  • Hotring racer- $2000000
First of all, obviously, which dealership would sell you a nascar-style vehicle? I've not seen any dealerships that sell vehicles like that, have you? Now, the infernus price would possibly be too low. The infernus is a sports car, one of the fastest vehicles in the game. The car wouldn't be cheap. It'd cost about $100000, at least. The blista compact obviously has a higher price than the infernus too, which makes no sense since there is a large difference between the infernus and blista-compact.

Guns
This is another point which needs to be talked about. You wouldn't be able to get a gun easily in-real-life. It would be unrealistic. +It wouldn't take you about 20 seconds to make an ak 47. You would need to know how it works, how it is put together, etc.
One more thing which I have seen multiple times, people pulling out guns in broad daylight. It is unrealistic, since you'd be spotted by someone if you were to do this in-real-life, and the police would be on-scene ASAP. I know this is more of a point of roleplaying mistakes, but I had to mention it, to give server owners an idea of how unrealistic it is to have this happen in-real-life.

Refunds
I do not need to say a lot about refunds, except that they are completely unrealistic and make your server boring. If I was to see a server with a name like this on the SA:MP server browser, I would avoid it:
"NAME OF ROLEPLAY SERVER [Refunding] [Level 3 VIP] [1 million dollars]"
Would you rather earn everything yourself, and have the experience of doing this, or would you join this server where everything is given to you?

Starting on the server
Starting to connect to your server for the first time will give the new players an impression of your server. You want to give them the best impression, obviously. You want to make everything easy to understand, and also give the player a chance to fully develop their character's details, e.g. show dialogs where players can input details about their character e.g. distinct features, personality, age, story, gender, etc.
It is also recommended to have a tutorial, otherwise the new players will not know what they have to do, won't know any details about the server, etc.

Staff
Admins. Most people do not understand how important admins are for your server. They are one of the key components of your server. It is important that you choose the right person for the job. First of all, avoid anyone that asks for an administrator position. It shows that they are powerhungry, and want an 'admin' position to make them feel important. Try to get people that are above 14 or 15 years of age. The reason for this is due to maturity, and knowledge. Another obvious mistake that I have seen is that some people hire admins, that do not know anything about the server! I had one instance, where one owner didn't even know the server's name!

I will add more to this soon, will add things about making it unique, commands, maps, rules, script, etc.

If you want anything added, or have any criticism, please post below. I hope that I manage to help at least 1 person with this, as it could be good for the future of roleplay servers on SA:MP. I apologize that it may look rushed, I spent about 15 mins on it, and didn't have the time to improve it.
