Difference between Dedicated and VPS

A VPS is effectively a VM if you've ever ran a OS inside of another OS using a tool such as VMWare. Your hardware is not dedicated to you and you only. And a dedicated server has fully dedicated hardware. Meaning your resources for the system is not shared with other people.
