It depends on where you live, bud.
When I got my temporary driver permit it was pretty simple. There was no pressure; you're not really expected to have any experience on the road whatsoever anyways. During the 6-months you have your drivers permit, you're supposed to learn a lot. I know I did. I took a drivers education course as well, it helped tremendously. I still use things I learned in that course today.
The main thing to remember when taking your driving exam is to pay attention to your surroundings. Make complete stops, use your turn signals, and wear your seat belt (also make sure your instructor has their seat belt on, too; they like to trick people here- it's the driver's job to make sure everyone has their seat belt on before moving). Remember to make complete stops behind the stop bar (the thick white line). Then move up until you can see; if you're clear, go. Otherwise, stop again.
Concentrate on your driving, not the instructor. Many people think too much about what the instructor thinks rather than paying attention to what they're doing. Be comfortable. Act like the instructor is your mother/father and it's the first time you've ever driven with them. Be cautious and alert.
Hopefully this helps you! It's helped a few of my friends in the past...![Smiley](images/smilies/smile.png)
Good luck, and have fun!
