I'm not expert on this, so this is just my opinion and theory. I'm _thinking_ that Arial is considered "safe" because Arial has shipped with every computer since words were appearing on computer screens (I exaggerate, but you get the idea).

I too prefer Tahoma over Arial, but at the same time if you dont want to risk someones game breaking because they don't have Tahoma (for whatever reason...and I'm sure that not having Tahoma is rare nowadays)...you use a font that everybody already has (Arial).

But yes if there was a 0% chance Tahoma wouldn't break anyones client, I'd personally prefer Tahoma. If there is a .001% chance it will break someones client...I'd stay with Arial
