Thats the magic of static energy. Never open up your casing without grounding yourself. (I usally don't do it myself, VERY BAD practice).
In all honesty your probably screwed, if you're unlucky you fried your motherboard. You should start by removing all hardware like GFX card, network or sound cars everything that can be unplucked. If this does nothing, it means there is something broken either on the Motherboad, CPU or PSU. (when your CPU is broken, theres a big chance the motherboard shows no life at all). After that you can try switching out the PSU like you'll be doing now. If nothing works I suggest you return it to a store, tell them that you're afraid you fried something with static energy, they can easily see if the circuits are broken. I usally do that myself, I'm not sure what the devices for such things are called in English but you can pick them up at a store. (the device can measure if electricty can flow between two points, easy explanation). |
