Sure, It'd cost you less, but are you experienced when it comes to handling all that incoming traffic? Denial attacks? Hosting companies have (supposedly) more knowledge than you. |
Not to make myself "the great man", but actually I'm following an IT training at the moment (Plus I'm working on getting my Cisco and Microsoft certificates). (School: ROC MN, Netherlands, if you are interested). I know everything about proxies, firewalls, security, hosting, routing and such. So no worries for me about that

Edit: Btw, I also ran my own small hosting company (Web, SQL and FTP) at my home data center for almost 2 years.
Oh and btw, what I'm planning to buy is just for local. lol.
