+1, even though i know it feels bad to experience something like that, i had it a few times. But, see it from the positive side. You atleast have learned something, make backups of files that you absolutely dont want to lose. Also, i would recommend you to use dropbox. It saves files online so you can put all your server folders in there. It is also useful if you have a development team. In that way you wont have to upload and share updated files with your team but they'll just have to go to their dropbox folder..
