i cannot give you an advice on how to create "fake npcs", i just want to say:
a 10% CPU usage for just 1 npc doesnt make your host start thinking about their outdated/bad shared computers' performance? what are they running their servers on? a i386@50MHz? the argument about using too much CPU is just invalid. arent you allowed to use 40% of CPU-time you rented? hahah, what a dud company!
demand a refund (since they arent capable of delivering what you payed for), then change host asap.
somehow i doubt that you will step in for YOUR customers rights, its YOUR money you payed them for getting nothing? sorry that you got served D:
i will PM you a link to a (ESL certified) company with >10000 happy users, offering >50 games (sigh, minecraft too), with NO traffic limit, and quiet a bit more than a crappy 100Mb/s connection, an excellent web interface, FTP access included (which is not cut down to like 15KBytes/second when uploading), and a daily backup system which i NEVER needed.
oh.. using the 78MB eating heightmap plugin > no complaints.
using an object editor eating another 20MB > no complaints.
using my fireworks script in an excessive way (running endless /fw with 400 objects moving each 75 ms): no complaints.
using 100% CPU (when some scripts are calculating shit for like 10 seconds): no complaints. (oh, i desync a lot then)
asking stupid/dumb/noobish questions in forums: answers from staff/users who KNOW the solution.
...to be edited maybe, gtg ^^
