I made a reference to it, but since I had already removed it, I didn't have anything to reference for the description. That was one of the first thing's I had done, thanks to previous experience.

To answer your question: No, single-player doesn't seem to work, although before I had began to mess with certain settings in an attempt to get it to work, it seemed to have worked then.. or at the least I was able to get to the menu that I recall.
