SAMP Translator (Console Window)
#1

Since this isn't really a script for SAMP or a tool, I didn't know where to post it and I thought perhaps the general forums would be best.

Something that I've experienced in SAMP is that there's plenty of servers out there which don't speak English. There's also hybrid servers which speak more than one language, and the barrier can be frustrating/confusing. Though I've heard there are some projects which were similar (I can't find them), I decided to embark in a small side-project using C# and the chatlog file to remedy this (at least somewhat) so that I could actually communicate. Keep in mind, the translated chat does appear in a Windows Console window (so the game has to be in windowed mode or on a separate monitor). In order to translate what you say, simply type the line out in the SAMP chatbox with the reverse-translation pre-cursor that you set in the config file, select the text, and press CTRL + C. The console window will tell you when the translation is complete, then simply press CTRL + V to paste in the translated text.

(To developers/coders, sorry if it's messy. It's just something I do for fun!)

Here's a link to the source-code:

Here's a link to the executable and the read-me:

If you use it, please let me know your experience/ways I can improve it.

Thanks .

EDIT: Updated to newer version which has two-way translation.
