You should actually pay attention to those "boring lessons" because without them you have no life ahead of you.
Not necessarily the case, especially for the two things this guy most likely has going for him; art and technology. Art is self explanatory, and technology can be self taught fairly easily from hardware to networking to programming. You do not need a degree to excel in the area and have a successful career a head of you. In fact, a professor at University of Virginia (can't recall his name) recently said he conducted a study that showed online certifications (like those for Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Suite, programming, etc) are more likely to be something to decide which employee gets the job in the very near future. A degree is not necessary (though, I do STRONGLY recommend it).

In fact, neither of my parents even have a high school education, and now they both have successful careers. My father is a superintendent at a private golf course (actually stated in a local golf magazine: "the best greens keeper around") and my mom is a manager at Dilliards department store.

After all, RealCop228 does have a very valid point. It is very important to get a good education regardless of whether or not you think or even know you can make it without. It's always nice to have something to fall back on if something goes wrong.
