Is it possible to make a plug-in (with C++) that returns the keys that a player is pressing?

I don't want KEY_LOOK_LEFT or something, but I want global keys like KEY_G, KEY_7_NUMPAD, KEY_ALT, KEY_SHIFT, KEY_SPACEBAR, KEY_], KEY_+, KEY_/ etc........
