Well, yeah that too, this is a San Andreas bug, that was recognized as the following;

GTA San Andreas problems can be fixed for the following problems using a patch. - Crash when entering advanced display options with only 32 meg of video ram - Crash when entering advanced display options on a dual monitor machine after :- starting game on primary monitor in maximum resolution, exiting, starting again in maximum resolution on secondary monitor. Secondary monitor maximum resolution had to be greater than maximum resolution of primary monitor.

I think the last one could have affected you, even though you're not using multiple screens.
But you changed resolution to a greater resolution then before.

P.S If you ever get in the Advanced Settings again, use x 32, x16 bit graphics looks weird and you will most likely have colour bugs.

Suggested Solution: Try to remove Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files\gta_sa.set
